Yes the food was great and all, but the restroom was exceptional. It had great character. It was very warm, down to earth, and inviting.

Recommend getting a reservation here. Saw parties getting turned away at the door. We did both shabu shabu and sukiyaki, although you're only able to do one at a time because there is only space for one pot. This didn't bother us though. We only did the beef, which was delicious. The servers were kind and attentive. Can't believe I didn't know there was a high quality but affordable shabu shabu restaurant in east village before! Definitely coming back.

Shabu-Tatsu is by far the best and my go to for a special occasion. Staff is very professional and great service. The wagyu beef is so yummy, tasty, and best for both sukiyaki and shabushabu.

Good food and attentive but not intrusive service. Had been in the mood for sukiyaki since we got back from Japan and stumbled across this place. The menu was very simple and straightforward. Flavors were light and fresh. Not a cheap meal by any means, but pricing was quite reasonable for the quality of food.

I'm not an expert on shabu-shabu but having it for the first time here was a very memorable experience. The waiters were very nice and they were helpful in giving advice on how to enjoy the food. It could have also been my date that made it memorable.

This is my absolute favorite shabu shabu( Japanese hot pot) place in NYC. We got Wagyu, Prime Rib, Snow crab for hot pot. All of them were amazing. Their Wagyu just melts in your mouth and nothing can make you any happier than that. They are very popular so I highly recommend to get reservation ahead of time. They have inside and outside seating. Drink menu is also not too bad.

Solid shabu-shabu spot. Came with a group of friends who lived in Japan for a few years and missed the experience and they said it was incredibly authentic. This a great place to bring a group of people, but definitely make reservations!

So fresh, delicious - entire meal was perfect. Such a fun dinner idea for a small group or even a date. Sauces were amazing. Of course asked for the chili because we are obsessed with spice but totally enough flavor in the sauces they give. Absolutely different than the hot pot style but would absolutely do it again. Loved the noodle soup at the end. Wanted more!

This restaurant is absolutely a perfect place to enjoy true Shabu Shabu. The food choices fit the type of Japanese dish that Shabu Shabu is just perfectly, and served with all the correct utensils in which to prepare your own table side meal. The tables themselves are equipped with the cooking burner built right in to the table. It could not have been a more perfect experience. They do an amazing job. The only way it could possibly be better, would be to be right in Japan! We can't wait to dine here again next time we're in NYC.

We had a delicious Sukiyaki last night with Chicken and prime rib eye. I love that you have a salad and ice cream complimentary. The staff is very helpful, the setting is comfortable and if you go really early you probably don't need a reservation. Going later you most likely will.
